As part of the EDUDER Project’s actions, and to strengthen research capacities with an inclusive approach, the Course “Socioemotional Competencies in Research” was held. This training experience was very well received at the Faculty of Physical Education of the National
Pedagogical University.
The course was conducted in a blended format (in-person and virtual) and was articulated with the research groups “Vivir para contarla” (Living to Tell the Story) and “Wayra: un aula ambiental” (Wayra: an Environmental Classroom), academic spaces committed to training researchers sensitive to the social and environmental realities of the country.
During the sessions, key topics such as emotional awareness, emotional expression, regulation and coping, and social arts were addressed, understood as pillars for building research processes with ethical and social meaning. Participation was diverse and enriching, with students, teachers, and
health personnel attending, sharing experiences, reflections, and learning about the role of emotions in research and pedagogical work.

The sessions were led by Professor Yenny Alejandra Morales Bermeo, a doctoral student at the Autonomous University of Madrid, during her research internship. This training space allowed for the strengthening of learning and reflection processes with students and faculty from the UPN’s Faculty of Physical Education. An academic gathering that contributed to the development of socioemotional competencies in teacher training.
